The UK Songwriting Contest is one of the world's longest running and most successful songwriting events. It was launched in London in 2002 in association with major music bodies including The BRIT Trust, The BRIT Studio, The BRIT School, Music Aid International, The GISC, Roland UK and top British producers and industry professionals "to discover and encourage new songwriting talent and promote the craft of songwriting".

The UKSC is watched closely by top professionals in the music industry worldwide and many entrants have been signed to major publishing and recording deals. The UKSC is well known as a launching pad for new songwriting talent with a warm and friendly songwriting support community.
